Technical Solutions Consultant
Overview
We are looking for a Technical Solutions Consultant to help prospects and customers navigate technical complexity, make good architectural decisions and become successful with Full Fabric.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical advisory role. You should be equally comfortable discussing an institution’s architecture with an IT director, explaining and testing an API integration, and helping diagnose an SSO or DNS configuration issue.
Your primary focus is technical discovery and solution architecture, supported by selective troubleshooting and practical enablement. You will work with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and implementation partners, but will not own routine technical support or implementation delivery.
You will also implement and operate the AI solutions Full Fabric uses in its interaction with prospects and customers, ensuring technical knowledge is captured, accurate and reusable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advise — primary focus
Lead technical discovery with prospects and customers to understand their requirements, existing systems, IT constraints and integration needs.
Recommend sound, maintainable architectures, including how Full Fabric integrates with CRMs, student information systems, identity providers and other institutional platforms.
Partner with Sales on technical evaluations, architectural discussions, relevant demonstrations, feasibility assessments and responses to technical or security questions.
Use AI conversation intelligence solutions to analyse technical discovery and evaluation calls, identify recurring requirements and improve internal technical processes and guidance.
2. Unblock — targeted specialist involvement
Help resolve selected complex or high-impact technical blockers, such as SAML SSO, identity providers, OAuth/OIDC, API authentication, DNS, TLS certificates and permissions.
Investigate issues hands-on by reproducing failures, testing requests, examining relevant responses or logs and identifying whether the cause is configuration, integration design or a product defect.
Configure and maintain AI-assisted support for technical topics, so that common SSO, API and configuration questions are resolved automatically, and complex cases reach you with clear context.
Provide clear guidance and coordinate escalation where needed; do not become the default owner of support tickets, routine troubleshooting or support SLAs.
3. Enable — reusable guidance and best practices
Demonstrate Full Fabric’s REST APIs, webhooks and authentication using tools such as Postman or cURL; advise on integration patterns, error handling and data flows.
Guide customer IT and implementation teams through technical decisions, configuration approaches and validation, helping them become capable and self-sufficient.
Create concise technical guidance, architecture diagrams, API examples and troubleshooting playbooks; share recurring friction with Product and Engineering; structure this content as the knowledge source for the AI solutions used internally and keep it accurate and current.
Role Boundaries
Solutions Engineering owns technical discovery, solution recommendations and specialist technical enablement—not delivery. Customer Support owns day-to-day support and support SLAs. Professional Services and implementation partners own customer-specific integrations, migrations and implementation projects. Engineering owns product defects and platform development.
You may help diagnose problems and advise on implementation choices, but are not expected to build bespoke integrations, manage deployments, own ongoing support or act as a general-purpose escalation queue. Priorities should favour technical discovery and architecture, with targeted involvement when your expertise materially unblocks a customer.
Requirements
Essential
Experience in a customer-facing technical role in B2B SaaS, such as Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant or Implementation Engineer; ideally with a prior software engineering or integration background.
Hands-on fluency with REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, webhooks and API authentication; able to test and debug requests with Postman, cURL or similar tools.
Practical understanding of SAML 2.0, SSO, identity providers, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, DNS and HTTPS/TLS, including common configuration and troubleshooting scenarios.
Good architectural judgement across SaaS platforms, integration patterns, system boundaries, data flows and security considerations.
Ability to investigate technical problems independently and know when to advise, resolve or escalate.
Strong communication and consultative skills, with confidence engaging senior IT stakeholders and explaining technical trade-offs to mixed audiences.
Excellent written and spoken English, with the organisational skills to manage multiple stakeholder needs.
Experience using AI solutions to improve technical workflows, such as maintaining knowledge sources for AI assisted support or analysing customer conversations, including the related security and data protection considerations.
Desirable
Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot or student information systems, particularly in higher education.
Familiarity with SQL, data mapping, scripting, cloud infrastructure or enterprise identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID or Okta.
Experience with AI-enabled SaaS products, LLM APIs or related security and governance considerations.
What Success Looks Like
Prospects understand how Full Fabric fits into their architecture and can make informed buying decisions. Customer IT teams can adopt and extend the platform confidently. Material technical blockers are resolved or routed to the right team with clear evidence. Technical guidance becomes repeatable rather than dependent on one person.
The AI solutions used internally to support customers give accurate technical answers based on the guidance you maintain.
Success is measured by technical confidence, sound architectural decisions, customer enablement and removal of important blockers—not by the volume of support tickets resolved or implementation projects delivered.
